New opportunities with TNE Editor in the latest version of TNE
The latest version of Transport Network Engine (TNE), version 3.14 is now available. This update contains several important improvements and new features which further strengthen TNE’s place as a leading platform for management of transport network and related data.
Highlights in TNE 3.14
TNE editor for several more event types and objects:
TNE can now be used for other event types than those found in the NVDB. This means that TNE Editor can be used independently and handle information according to a defined data catalogue which Triona can assist in setting up. This can take place in the same environment that the user is working in, which means that TNE Editor can both deliver data to the NVDB and update other data types which can be managed in a local and/or central TNE environment.
By using TNE’s data catalogue manager, several event types and objects can be defined and later managed by TNE Editor. Type of information which can now be updated with TNE Editor include parking lots, road signs, wells, kerbstones, cycle pumps, major cycle lanes etc.
Overall, this will give users greater flexibility and new options when managing a broader set of data with TNE editor.
Support for spatial attributes in TNE Editor:
TNE Editor can now display and edit events with spatial attributes. This means that the user can manage an object’s exact location properties, in addition to its position in relationship to the network. This means that TNE Editor can now be used to update a digital asset register.
Integration with Trafikverket’s new NVDB interface:
With Trafikverket’s new IT solution for NVDB, the interface for communication has been updated. Trafikverket’s legacy interface will be shut down at the end of the year. The new TNE version is aligned with the new interface and communication with the NVDB is therefore future proof.
Better management of validation messages from the NVDB:
In the TNE Editor, users can now manage validation messages from the NVDB in the same way as validation messages from TNE. Users can use the inbuilt functionality to for example navigate to these, filter them and then correct any errors. The user can also check if the validation message is within the actual project area.
TNE platform central in the new technical solution for NVDB.
Trafikverket deployed the new technical solution for the NVDB in April 2024. The solution is based on TNE and uses the TNE Editor as the update tool. Find out more in our use case: TNE empowers Trafikverket to edit, store, and provide information about the Swedish road network
