TNE Platform key to new technical solution for NVDB

19 June 2024

The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) who is the main authority for the national road database (NVDB) deployed the new technical solution for NVDB in April. The new solution is based on TNE and where TNE Editor is used as the updating tool.

The previous technical solution was developed for NVDB over 20 years ago. The solution together with associated update programs has been maintained by Trafikverket. Primarily due to an increased requirement for IT security, a new solution was needed and in 2022 Trafikverket selected Triona as supplier of the solution. The new solution was deployed in April 2024 and allows Trafikverket to:

  • Comply with new security requirements.
  • Use TNE’s powerful features and tools for data processing in the NVDB.
  • Use the modern and efficient web-based application TNE Editor to perform editing and to review and import deliveries to the NVDB from municipalities, forest owners, and other actors.
We at Triona are proud to provide a modern and secure technical solution for one of the country’s master databases, NVDB. That the Swedish Transport Administration, the land survey, and several Swedish municipalities have chosen to use TNE Editor to update the road network and associated data is an important seal of quality. We look forward to continuing to develop the application to bring even more value to our customers. Markus Living, Product Owner TNE
